This is a March 2nd e-mail from Thomas White, who is in charge of the iPad deployment at Monte Vista Christian School in Watsonville, CA: "Monte Vista was the first school to adopt iPads in April of 2010. But there was no plan, just lots of vision. Then they hired me. Between now and then we have 500 iPads in test cases all over the campus. Next year the High School goes 1:1, where every student in the High School will be issued an iPad to take home. The year after, our Middle School will also go 1:1. We're a small independent school of 600 High School students, and 200 Middle School students. We're committed to a school-wide digital conversion, using iPads, for 2011/2012. It's already been paid for; it's a done deal. Our Headmaster has instructed me to share what we learn with all interested parties. I learn something new in this project almost every day, and I'm happy to share what I've learned so far." Thomas can be reached at thomas_h_white@me.com |
